2025 has been a long year. But we’re almost through it. Can you believe it’s already… check notes… March? Wait, what? It’s only fucking March?? Buckle up, this is another addition of TL;DR.
Let’s start with DOGE. Imagine being so brainwashed by the MAGA cult that you support gutting important government agencies and still expecting them to function. Let’s fire all the safety inspector at the nuclear power plants. What could possibly go wrong? 
Food and drug inspector? That’s just wasteful spending. I’m sure our food will remain safe to eat. Let’s gut USAID who does important life saving work feeding starving children, healing the sick, preventing future pandemics, and increasing good will toward the United States all over the world. That spending seems wasteful. As the world continues to deal with extreme weather brought about by Climate Change, let’s gut NOAA. What could possibly go wrong there. FEMA? Nah, we don’t need that shit either. Break out the chainsaw. And let’s not forget the veterans. Losers! That’s what MAGA says. They like soldiers who don’t use services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. There’s your fraud right there. I bet most of those people are probably in there for bone spurs anyway. Right?
Hey, while we’re at it, let’s put an anti-vaccine advocate in charge of vaccines! Oh wow look, there’s an outbreak of Measals in Texas. A disease that we eradicated. That’s strange. Let’s call the center for disease control. Oh wait, we fired them all! Wasteful spending! They probably didn’t do anything anyway, right? But at least the billionaires get their subsidiaries. That’s definitely not wasteful. Musk is cutting government funding to many private contract that his companies can now provide. That’s not fraud; that’s just good monopoly style business.
Then there are the attacks on trans people. Trans is the new gay. Right wing religious wackos used to put all their hate on the gay community, but they largely lost that fight. Not to say that being gay no longer has any stigma, but mainstream society has largely accepted that gay people exist and gotten on board with capitalizing on Pride. So now the pivot is to Trans people… for now. Trans people are the soft target. Trans woman playing in women’s sports! How dare they? Really?? With all the shit in the world, that’s what is important? That’s like five people. Who gives a fuck. It’s just an attempt to demonize trans people are push hate. It’s the, “gay people shouldn’t be flamboyant,” attack. America is about differences and that is what makes us great. DEI is what this country is all about. But not to MAGA.
“America First!” They chant. “Get them ‘illegals’ out of our country.” For them being American is about being a white English speaker… scratch that… a white American speaker. Trump gonna rename the language. So here’s my question: Do Americans have special blood which makes them deserving of special rights and privileges? Or is it that our laws and constitution are special and should be protecting everyone with their power to protect?
I believe it is the latter. If that is the case and we can feed and protect immigrants or foreign people, then we should do that. That’s called soft power, it builds allies, prevents pandemics, creates a stronger economy, and is just the moral fucking thing to do. The former, btw is some old school Nazi shit. Just say’n.
What makes America great isn’t in our blood or being born within some imaginary border. It’s our welcoming of diversity. It’s our culture of equality. It’s our embrace of individuality. If only we could put that in a three letter acronym…
America hasn’t “gone” woke; America has always been the promise of woke! That is the promise of America. While we haven’t always lived up to that promise, as a nation we strive to do better. That statue in the middle of the Hudson River has a fucking meaning! That Bell in the center of Philadelphia has a fucking meaning! That flag that MAGA love to parade around in, has a fucking meaning! MAGA loves waving that flag and pledging allegiance to that flag, but they never pay attention to that pledge. Pro tip, it isn’t allegiance to the flag, it’s allegiance to the flag… FOR WHICH IT STANDS!!!! One nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL!!!
