About

Hi,  my name is Staks Rosch and I am an atheist. I don’t believe in any gods. Far from believing in nothing (as many religious believers tell me), I believe in people. I consider myself to be a Secular Humanist, a skeptic, a rationalist, and a philosopher.

I’m also very political. I was a vocal Independent for a long time before changing my registration to Democrat. I still remain quite independent even though I have been heavily involved with the Democratic Party in my area. I have been called a strong progressive by many.

I have a long history of fighting for the rights of minorities, women, and the LGBT Community. I am also proud of the fact that I went down to Washington to lobby several Senators in favor of free speech.

As an atheist, I am a former board member of the Freethought Society of Greater Philadelphia and I currently serve as the head of the Philadelphia Coalition of Reason. I continue to write as the National Atheism Examiner on Examiner.com and am a Huffington Post Contributor. I was a panelist on the CN8 television show “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle.” The show topic was Intelligent Design in the classroom and I also appeared on the Christian radio show, “Bob Enyart Live” to discuss atheism.

Dangerous Talk started as my college radio talk show dealing with politics, social issues, and atheism. After graduate school, the show went to a local AM Radio station and then to a podcast format following the Rational Response Squad on the Infidel Guy’s podcasting network. It eventually became my daily blog at DangerousTalk.net.

Now I’m here at SkepticInk and I am excited to be here. I hope my readers will comment often, share my posts, and perhaps even donate every now and then. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, and if you are wondering about my de-conversion story, you can check that out over at We Are Atheism.
