There were several interesting articles and images that all gave me the inspiration for this post. So, let’s talk about…
Category Origins of Life
The origin of life on Earth is a fascinating topic. But to be truly informed, you really have to get…
Over at the so-called “Evolution News” site, Casey Luskin presents his Top Ten Problems with Chemical and Biological Evolution (h/t…
A brief discussion of two new papers. One adds significant support for the RNA World hypothesis and the other shows that even tiny changes to the genome can have massive effects on how the protein functions.
Meyer makes another mistake and gets corrected. Shoddy research by Meyer continues. At this point in the book, I think I’ve written 3 or 4 times as many words as Meyer and linked to quite a few more peer-reviewed papers. I hope that I will be able to refer back to these at some point… but we’re still in the prologue and he’s already got a lot of things fundamentally wrong.
I don’t know how much I can stomach of this… I’m going to ignore the four pages where Meyer explains…
NASA reported this morning that Curiosity had found an area that could have supported ancient microbes and the development of…
About a week ago, I took on the task of refuting the claims of Texas creationists. I used the so-called weaknesses of evolution from this page.
For your reference, I’ve included the complete list here. If I do anymore weaknesses of evolution, I’ll add them to this list.
Ah, this is a modern classic. Indeed, this is what the idea of intelligent design is based on. I could go for hours on this topic. I will try to restrict myself to only refutations of this creationist claim.
There is no known natural source of the information that is present in all life systems. Random processes are never known to produce information.
Oxygen can damage us though. It can react with many different types of molecules. It can damage things like amino acids, proteins, and the nucleic acids. Which brings us to the next claim by Texas creationists.
Photo dissociation of water vapor has been a source of oxygen since the Earth formed, and there is substantial geologic evidence that a significant amount of oxygen existed in the atmosphere prior to the advent of photosynthesis. Oxygen breaks down amino acids and sugars that are postulated to have formed!
