This is an old claim from creationists who really don’t understand evolution… or apparently reproduction. I don’t consider it a ‘weakness’ of evolution, but it is an attack against it.
If humans evolved from monkeys, how come monkeys still exist?

In a previous thread, I asked for publications that support Intelligent Design. Of all the ones listed, only one actually seemed to provide supporting evidence for ID. The others were interesting ideas, but mainly dealt with how evolution can’t have done x (produce complex folding proteins or whatever).
But the paper I want to talk about today was different. The title suggested, in no uncertain terms, what to expect.
EVIDENCE OF DESIGN IN BIRD FEATHERS AND AVIAN RESPIRATION
OK, my mind is officially blown. Science is just so freaking cool. Yesterday (Feb 28th), this paper was published in…
The last section of the webpage “weaknesses of evolution” is some helpful tips from creationists about how to prevent misunderstandings.
In 2009, a very important paper was released. It’s short but very dense. It describes the results of a model of climate change that has included over 400 parameters in over a thousand different emissions scenarios.
The results were not very heartening then and even worse now.
What I thought I would do is take some of these ‘weaknesses of evolution’ and examine them. Hopefully providing a resource to show how these weaknesses aren’t really problems or they have been dealt with by current science.
This is the kind of problem that bugs the hell out of me and seems to create more problems than…
The numbers have been crunched and the results are in. 2012 continues to show that global warming has and will…
A new book called “Building Strong Church Communities: A Sociological Overview”, written by Dr. Patricia Wittberg, examines why religion isn’t…
