Christians Are Offended Again

I was listening to my local NPR station the other day and came across an interesting story. Artists created a mural in Philadelphia and surprise, surprise, Christians were offended and destroyed the mural because that’s what people do when they are offended.

Atheist Blogger Redefines Marriage to Exclude Christians

Christian fundamentalists often complain that “secularists” are trying to “redefine” marriage to include the greater LBGT community. Former Senator, presidential dreamer, and all around assclown, Rick Santorum (Google him), even complained that we might redefine marriage to include “man on dog” relations. Interestingly enough, it seems that lately it has been Christians who have been trying to redefine marriage.

Random Acts of Kindness

The world can be a pretty cruel place and people tend to be self-consumed at times. Random acts of kindness are rare and yet over the weekend, I was the recipient of two such acts. However, one was a little less random than the other and the kindness of one might have been more self-consumed than the other as well.

Beyond Atheism

Religious believers often tell me that atheism is my religion and even some atheists claim that they would not want religion eliminated because atheism is their identity and without religion to argue against they would lose that identity. Is atheism my religion and my identity? Wouldn’t I want to stop the elimination of religion to preserve my identity?

A True Scotsman

One of the most disturbing things about the Chapel Hill shooting is that the shooter, Craig Hicks, is an active atheist online. His Facebook page looks a lot like my Facebook page… minus the photo of the weight of his gun. We even have 77 Facebook friends in common.

Let Your Representatives Know You’re Here

Before the National Atheist Party imploded, they had a really great campaign in which they asked atheists to ask politicians how they would represent their atheist constituents. This was a brilliant campaign because it let politicians know that atheists exist and that we vote. Today, I want to call your attention to another opportunity to let your politicians know you exist.

Code Orange Alert

In the future, the world’s environmental problems will get so bad that people will have a hard time breathing the air and drinking the water. Just imagine for a moment that you are living in this dystopian world.
