It isn’t unusual these days for some right-wing Christian to say something hateful and then shift the blame to their deity. It isn’t that they hate gays or thing that atheists deserve to be tortured for all eternity, they are just the messenger. They are just telling us God’s message.

Like many atheists, I often have Christians who threaten to physically assault me. I even get Christians who threaten send me to “meet God.” But they love me. They really love me. In fact, after all the threats, they are sure to let me know that they are praying for me. But what does that really mean anyway?
As an atheist, I get Christians telling me that I am immoral all the time. Many Christians even inform me that the very reason why I am an atheist is because I want to “sin” and a belief in God would keep me from sinning. After all, it works so well for Christians, right? I wish Christians would stop telling me how moral they are and actually show me how moral they are through their actions. But I guess if they did that, then they would have to take a stand against their God.
Early last week, a Christian commented that he had proof the Jesus was God. I’m an open minded sort, so I asked him to present his “proof.”
It seems that every time I get into a conversation with a Christian these days, they have to assure themselves that I am as closed minded as they are. First they brag about how dogmatic they are and then they turn around and accuse me of being dogmatic. This is where I blow their minds and explain to them just how easy it is to convince an atheist that God exists.
I was dropping my son off at pre-school this morning and one of the other parents had a car with a bumper sticker that said something along the lines of, “Dear God, why do you allow so much violence in schools? I’m not allowed in schools. – God”
Matt Stopera of BuzzFeed asked 22 Creations to write down some questions for the scientifically literate following the Nye/Ham debate. I thought it would be fun to answer these questions playing the role of Bill Nye The Science Guy. You can see the photos of the Creationists asking the questions on the BuzzFeed article.
Last night I watched the Nye/Ham debate. I know a lot of atheists got on Bill’s shit for even standing next to a hack like Ham, but I was not one of them. As an atheist, I am forced to debate ridiculous beliefs all the time. Ignoring ridiculous beliefs won’t make them go away. Creationism is a ridiculous belief and Bill Nye the Science Guy couldn’t ignore; he had to debate against it and I support that.
The State of the Union is tonight and every news agency is asking every American, what we want to hear the President say tonight. That’s the wrong question. It isn’t what I want the President to say; it is what I want the President to do!
What happens when you mix the wackiness of homeopathy with the ridiculousness of religion? You get the Matthew 4 Protocol. I don’t know if you heard, but cancer has completely vanished from the Earth. No, I haven’t noticed that either. But this morning I got an e-mail from The Washington Times telling me that the Bible has cured cancer.
