I work part-time in retail and the other day I had a woman ask me about how I viewed the Bible. She then handed me a Bible tract titled with that same question and told me that it would only take a few moments of my time, but it could change my life.

A day doesn’t go by when some Christian “warns” me about the looming threat of eternal torture which is sure to await me if I continue to 1. Lack a belief in their God and 2. Not worship their God. These are two separate issues and yet Christians only try to address the first of these concerns.
It isn’t unusual these days for some right-wing Christian to say something hateful and then shift the blame to their deity. It isn’t that they hate gays or thing that atheists deserve to be tortured for all eternity, they are just the messenger. They are just telling us God’s message.
Like many atheists, I often have Christians who threaten to physically assault me. I even get Christians who threaten send me to “meet God.” But they love me. They really love me. In fact, after all the threats, they are sure to let me know that they are praying for me. But what does that really mean anyway?
As an atheist, I get Christians telling me that I am immoral all the time. Many Christians even inform me that the very reason why I am an atheist is because I want to “sin” and a belief in God would keep me from sinning. After all, it works so well for Christians, right? I wish Christians would stop telling me how moral they are and actually show me how moral they are through their actions. But I guess if they did that, then they would have to take a stand against their God.
Early last week, a Christian commented that he had proof the Jesus was God. I’m an open minded sort, so I asked him to present his “proof.”
Last night, I attended my county’s Democratic Party nomination convention and unlike the last few years, there was no religious invocation and no one missed it.
I love it when I am having a relatively rational discussion with a Christian and then the Christian starts to go off about demons, witches, and warlocks. It is a facepalm moment that reminds me that “relatively rational” is still batshit crazy.
It seems that every time I get into a conversation with a Christian these days, they have to assure themselves that I am as closed minded as they are. First they brag about how dogmatic they are and then they turn around and accuse me of being dogmatic. This is where I blow their minds and explain to them just how easy it is to convince an atheist that God exists.
I was dropping my son off at pre-school this morning and one of the other parents had a car with a bumper sticker that said something along the lines of, “Dear God, why do you allow so much violence in schools? I’m not allowed in schools. – God”
