• I *don’t* object John Paul II’s canonization

The Vat-cave is having John Paul II‘s canonization tomorrow. There have been protests by activists, but I just can’t join them on this particular issue. Here’s why.

I don’t find this canonization objectionable: The Catholic Church is a private entity – they can worship whoever they want, even a child molesters’ guardian such as John Paul II. I wouldn’t expect different from such a morally bankrupted institution, and I won’t pretend they have some kind of moral high ground or that they should.

They’re like the mob – only worse, why would I even pretend to expect them to behave like civilized people? I’m fed up with religionists telling me what my morals and likes should be, I won’t play that game. As long as they stop poisoning public policy, they can do whatever they see fit.

By the way, would you be surprised to learn John Paul II’s so called miracles, ain’t so?
