• God not be praised

    One of the things I don’t understand is why USA have bills with the “In god we trust” motto on them.

    Look at Brazil, they might be taking a step forward for secularism in this matter:

    Public prosecutor Jefferson Dias says the country is a secular state and the phrase “God be praised” disregards the rights of non-Christians.

    He is asking a federal court to order the words removed. His motion was filed on Monday.

    Dias says the fact most Brazilians are Christian does not justify the “violation of the fundamental rights of those that follow different religions or do not believe in God”.

    It isn’t that hard to understand, right?
