• Doomsday-proof Arks

Thanks to Harold Camping fear-mongering Doomsday campaign, tons of people lost their jobs, their savings or even their lives, just because a nutcase said the Rapture was happening for the n-th time. And some people profited off that.

Now, with the whole ‘Mayans-predicted-the-end-of-times’ nonsense, some other people are taking advantage of ignorance; for example Yang Zongfu, who is selling Doomsday-proof Arks:

Entrepreneur Yang Zongfu has received 21 orders for his doomsday ark, which he claims can withstand the end of the world, reported by Oriental Outlook, a Shanghai magazine attached to Xinhua News Agency on Oct 24, 2012. The most expensive ark comes at a price of five million yuan ($799,500).

According to the report, all the orders are in accordance with customer requests and each ark has its own custom-built interior design. The prices start from one million yuan.

Chinadaily.com.cn previously reported on Aug 6, 2012 that Yang, 32, from Yiwu, Zhejiang province had announced his invention of “Atlantis”, a gigantic ark that would be able to withstand doomsday, which according to the Mayan calendar, will occur on Dec 21, 2012.

Do you think he should be sued and make him pay to the last cent?
