13 Reasons to Doubt now available
The new book from Skeptic Ink authors, 13 Reasons to Doubt, is now available from Amazon in a Kindle edition (other formats for the book will be available soon).
13 Reasons to Doubt includes my chapter, “Skepticism in an Age of Ideology”. I’m rather proud of this piece, which sets out a rationale for scientific skepticism within a larger view of the world that does not purport to be comprehensive and is politically liberal rather than authoritarian. Anyone interested in a relatively short statement of where I’m coming from in allying myself with the skeptic movement might want to have a look at this (you can sample some of my contribution through Amazon’s “search inside” feature before deciding to buy).
There are strong essays from many others, including a particularly good piece from Caleb Lack on why you should doubt your brain – on the problem of cognitive biases.
Do check it out and see whether 13 Reasons to Doubt might be for you!
