Tea Party Volunteers Seek to Engage in Voter Suppression and Discourage Voters from Casting Their Vote

At The Nation, Brentin Mock has reported that groups affiliated with the Tea Party have attempted to block many voters by claiming they have criminal records. However, thus far none of the names on the lists have been found to have any criminal history. If that isn’t crazy enough, groups have also tried to discourage voters from standing in the long lines by forcing groups from engaging in the humanitarian gesture of handing out bottled water to voters, claiming the water is being used as a bribe for a vote for Obama.
