    Where?

    3 Amersham Hill,
    High Wycombe,
    Bucks,
    HP13 6NQ

Why do people believe crazy ideas? From cults, conspiracy theories, fundamentalist religions, extreme politics and other hard to swallow beliefs, Stephen will look at how people justify these ideas to themselves intellectually. He will help identify the tricks by which such insidious belief systems are created and sustained.

Stephen Law is a Philosopher, and senior lecturer at Heythrop College, University of London. He edits the Royal Institute of Philosophy Journal, and has written several books, including “Believing Bullshit”, on which this talk will be based.

Join us for this free talk by a leading thinker in this topic, all in the relaxed surroundings of the Bootlegger Pub in High Wycombe.
