Some stories that caught my eye this week…
The British government has released a film about child marriage (about time). Watch it.
Islamic fanatics are burning down Coptic Churches in Egypt (incidentally, why are we not allowing maximum immigration possible of Christian refugees from Egypt and the rest of the Middle East?). Coincidentally, this is the first time a mass has not been the Virgin Mary and Priest Ibram monastery in 1,600 years. Remind me why it’s xenophobic to care about this again?
The face of womanhood under Islam.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali calls it as it is about the “Arab spring”, and on FGM.
Good news: the Indonesian policy on mandatory virginity tests has been shot down.
Two converts call for jihad in France, as do some Lebanese Swedes. Meanwhile British women are converting and joining the Syrian jihad, along with at least 500 Belgians, though apparently at least the Shia are debating this a little.
A good article by Die Welt on the Muslim Brotherhood. In Bangladesh we hear calls for women to stay at home.
For comic relief, the supposed Al Qaeda twitter handle is getting a predictable response…
And the London branch of the Muslim World League is calling for “misconceptions about Islam” to be removed. Oh, yes indeed…
