I have said this before and I will do so again: right-wing anti-science is annoying, left-wing anti-science is lethal.
Lomborg has piece out in Slate about the attacks on Golden Rice. Currently, Vitamin A deficiency kills 668,000 children a year. GM rice fortified with vitamin A might be able to stop that. Of course, the same people who are fine with letting millions die from malaria are opposed to preventing these deaths. As Greenpeace did when it convinced the starving Zambians that they could do without GM food.
