One of my favorite actors has died. Richard Briers, age 79, star of “The Good Life,” (also known as “Good Neighbors”), “Ever-Decreasing Circles,” and various Shakespearean plays, films, etc. has died.
Branagh remembered Briers as “a national treasure, a great actor and a wonderful man. He was greatly loved and he will be deeply missed.”
Born Jan. 14, 1934, Briers trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Artin London and worked consistently in theater, film and television for more than half a century.
His latest film was called “Cockneys Vs. Zombies.”
My kinda guy. I loved this collaboration with the infamous Mr. Bean. I laughed out loud watching him try to sing the hymn.
I’ll miss him.
Hat tip to Jim Fitzsimons for bringing this to my attention.
