• #ThrowbackThursday special – #FreeOK in retrospective

I’ve written about the Oklahoma Freethought Convention on several previous occasions, but today seems like a good day to recap some of my favorite moments from past events, since FreeOK 2015 is coming up this weekend.

2011 talk from virologist Abbie Smith:

2012 talk from (fellow SINner and avocational goat herder) Caleb Lack:

2013 talk from Emily Boyer, who loved OKC so much that she decided to stay:

Of course, not everyone goes for the talks. Lots of us attend primarily to connect with old friends, make new friends, and strengthen our ties to the local freethinking community. Schmoozing with big name atheists is just frosting on the cake.

Frosting can be wonderfully decadent, though

At any rate, I hope to see some of you guys at the fifth annual FreeOK this weekend. I’ll be wearing my SkepticInk t-shirt, so keep an eye out for me.
