• Rafael Cruz has a go at Secular Humanism

“Well, if there is nothing, if there is no God, then we are ruled by our instincts. There is no moral absolute, which means we operate by situational ethics, which unfortunately is something being taught in every high school in America.”

This may well give us some insight into the sort of teachings that Senator Ted Cruz was raised to believe. Take a moment to let that involuntary shudder play out.

It does not completely surprise me that this sort of ignorant drivel would go over well with an Oklahoma audience. It is a terrible shame whenever grown-ups cannot conceive of the idea of doing good for the sake of goodness rather than following the arbitrary (and quite often barbaric) dictates of a divine moral absolutist.
