    This may well give us some insight into the sort of teachings that Senator Ted Cruz was raised to believe. Take a moment to let that involuntary shudder play out.

    It does not completely surprise me that this sort of ignorant drivel would go over well with an Oklahoma audience. It is a terrible shame whenever grown-ups cannot conceive of the idea of doing good for the sake of goodness rather than following the arbitrary (and quite often barbaric) dictates of a divine moral absolutist.
