• What’s a Mormon archaeologist to do?

Last month, my brother-in-law spoke on an area of some interest to him professionally and to me avocationally: Mormon archaeology. Here is the YouTube playlist, which those putzes over at the Godcast studios finally got around to posting yesterday.

I think he did a bang-up job showing how superficially similar structures and functionally similar artefacts from Mesopotamia and Mesoamerica are actually quite different to the trained eye.

A few questions spring to mind:
    1) What sort of finds would strongly confirm the BoM’s “Out of Israel” approach to originally populating the Americas?
    2) What do Mormon apologists say when faced with the appalling lack of such findings?
    3) How on Earth do the Mormon archaeologists manage to compartmentalise so well that they can sound just like the real deal when they write up their results?
