At this time of year, we celebrate the birth of the Light of the World, the source and sustainer of life, glorious in radiance, terrifying to behold: the sun, the real reason for the season – and the other seasons, too.
It’s very sporting of the Christians to join in on the pagan festivities. Should we let them? Oh, why not!
