For those who may have missed the story, I proposed a very simple bus ad containing the word &#8220;Atheists.&#8221; and the url\/name of my local freethought group&#8230;and was rejected on grounds that it was &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/atheist-group-pleads-freedom-of-speech-violations-after-rejected-bus-ad-71843\/\">an attack on religion<\/a>,&#8217; &#8216;would start a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justinvacula.com\/2012\/02\/really-really-really-inoffensive.html\">public debate about controversial issues<\/a>,&#8217; and more. <em>Friendly Atheist<\/em> Hemant Mehta called this ad &#8212; and rightly so &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/friendlyatheist\/2012\/02\/28\/the-most-inoffensive-atheist-bus-ad-ever-rejected\/\">the most inoffensive atheist bus ad ever<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/imgur.com\/5duQN\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/5duQN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"132\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t given up, either, even after being rejected <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justinvacula.com\/2012\/03\/local-news-video-and-article.html\">two<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justinvacula.com\/2012\/03\/wnep16-reports-colts-again-rejects.html\">times<\/a>; I am currently working with an organization to resolve this issue by placing the ads on county buses.
