Ask me anything!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_2466\" style=\"width: 226px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/skepticink.com\/justinvacula\/files\/2013\/04\/Sticker-2013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2466\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2466\" title=\"Sticker 2013\" src=\"https:\/\/skepticink.com\/justinvacula\/files\/2013\/04\/Sticker-2013.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2466\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">secularstudents.org<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.secularstudents.org\">Secular Student Alliance (SSA)<\/a> \u2013 whose mission is to organize, unite, educate, and serve students and student communities that promote the ideals of scientific and critical inquiry, democracy, secularism, and human-based ethics \u2013 is promoting \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.secularstudents.org\/askanatheistday\">National Ask an Atheist Day<\/a>&#8216; this April 18 which is, according to their website, \u201can opportunity for secular groups across the country to work together to defeat stereotypes about atheism and encourage courteous dialogue between believers and nonbelievers alike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While I am not a member of any campus student groups &#8212; mainly because the <a href=\"https:\/\/skepticink.com\/justinvacula\/2012\/04\/04\/marywood-secular-student-alliance-denied-school-newspaper-publishes-article\/\">Catholic university I attend rejected my proposal to form a secular group<\/a> &#8212; I was happy to be <a href=\"https:\/\/skepticink.com\/justinvacula\/2012\/07\/19\/religious-campuses-panel-ssa-2012-annual-conference\/\">invited to appear as a panelist at the Secular Student Alliance\u2019s 2012 conference<\/a> in Columbus, Ohio and support the mission of the Secular Student Alliance. The SSA has grown tremendously since I first heard of the organization when I first discovered I was an atheist in my second year of undergraduate studies.<\/p>\n<p>In the spirit of National Ask an Atheist Day, feel free to leave your questions below whether you happen to be an atheist or not.
