Making the final cut of 18 billboards is a billboard I submitted to the County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS) in early 2012, on behalf of the NEPA Freethought Society, which was slated to be &#8216;the most inoffensive atheist bus ad ever.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the advertisement was rejected on grounds of it &#8212; according to COLTS &#8212; being &#8220;too controversial&#8221; and &#8220;an attack on religion.&#8221; Read a <a href=\"https:\/\/skepticink.com\/justinvacula\/2012\/04\/04\/recap-design-change-concerning-atheists-bus-advertisement\/\">quick recap<\/a> of the controversy surrounding the bus advertisement and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/skepticink.com\/justinvacula\/category\/nepa-freethought-society-bus-campaign\/\">browse this website<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"www.nepafreethought.org\">NEPA Freethought Society<\/a> still seeks to have the billboard displayed and hopes to take legal action (with some help) against COLTS.
