President Obama recently signed legislation which places restrictions on protests of military funerals. New legislation, the Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012, states that protests may not take place within 300 feet of military funerals. Additionally, protests are prohibited two hours before and after military funeral services. Brent Roper of the Westboro Baptist Church — a group impacted by this new legislation — comments for this article.
