Billy Graham’s organization removes Mormonism from its list of cults.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I was unaware they had a full “list” of available cults and am sure it would make for an interesting read. It’s also interesting to note that various religions can fall off (and presumably on) the list so easily. The article goes on to say:<\/p>\n

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association<\/a> this week removed Mormonism from its list of religious cults, the Charlotte Observer reports<\/a>. Mormons consider themselves Christians, though not all of their beliefs align with mainstream Christian doctrine.<\/p>\n

The association dropped the label after Romney visited Graham<\/a> and his son Franklin Graham, who now runs the organization, last week. In his six decades of ministry, Billy Graham has served as a spiritual adviser to several presidents, though he’s never formally endorsed a presidential candidate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It appears as though they, as an evangelistic association, are coming pretty darned close to endorsing a candidate. Woops. Wait a minute. They appear to have done so:<\/p>\n

In a column last month<\/a>, Franklin Graham wrote, “So, can an evangelical Christian vote for a Mormon? My answer is yes, for if a biblically faithful evangelical could only vote for a candidate who was perfectly aligned theologically, he or she would be unable to cast a vote for president on November 6.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
