This is a lecture from economist Richard Wolff. He advocates something he calls ‘Democracy in the Workplace,‘ and his website includes a large number of real life examples of democratic work places. He was also a consultant for Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story, which is the number one film to see about democratic socialism. I think he’s exactly right: we should find ways to give subsidized loans to upstart co-operative organizations, and it might be a good idea to take a note from Italy and allow people to collect an advance on their unemployment check to start a co-operative organization.
