Brian Copeland and Greg Bullard, a pastor, are a married couple with children. In anticipation of their son entering education they planned to visit a prospective school, Davidson Academy. However, the meeting was canceled. The letter below explains why.
Davidson Academy is a private school so they are well within their rights to refuse whomever they want for whatever reason, but that doesn’t make the reason any less repugnant. The situation might be more palatable if the school was consistent in its policy but they accept children whose parents have divorced. Surely this goes against the school’s Christian beliefs too. But as is so often the case, the beliefs and tenets of Christianity are being cherry-picked much to the detriment of the LGBT community and their children.
