About Don
I am an atheist, humanist Unitarian. I write to help others recover from religion. I’m interested in epistemology, ethics, exposing Christian apologetics and the Evidential Problem of Evil. (BA in Philosophy, Drake University, 2013.) I’m also involved in recovering from substance abuse and work for equal treatment of nonbelievers in AA.
Religion contains much that is good, but those things are not good because they are religious. They’re just good. That’s why religion claims them. The negative project of atheism is essential, but we need to offer a superior alternative. Humanism can fill that role. Calling it ‘religious Humanism’ adds nothing.
We’ve had enough of religion’s unjustified claims.
The natural world is enough to meet our needs.
