Connecticut congressman Jim Himes is mad as hell; not going to take it anymore.
I will not attend one more"Moment of Silence" on the Floor. Our silence does not honor the victims, it mocks them. pic.twitter.com/VWWdOkliWN

The Moments of Silence in the House have become an abomination. God will ask you, "How did you keep my children safe"? Silence.

Nope. We'll have a moment of silence. Perfectly emblematic of Congressional gross negligence. https://t.co/kPWLOzbY7h

His heart is definitely in the right place; he believes (correctly) it is grossly negligent to fall back on mere thoughts and prayers when we could work to effect real policy change. This is a truly refreshing perspective to hear from a Christian politician, most of whom seem far more concerned with signaling virtue than actually becoming more virtuous.
