• Naming the Problem

There is a website called Name the Problem run by radical feminists who have no moral qualms about doxxing, that is, releasing personal information online, especially in a way intended to cause harm. These radical feminists have been on a tear against the moderators of the Block Bot, especially the transwomen on the list, some of whom have been given an individualized doxxing treatment that includes old legal names and pre-transition photos.

I’m no fan of AtheismPlus or its block bot, there is a vastly easier way to whitelist a safespace on Twitter without creating an ongoing public performance about who got blacklisted and for what particular offenses against SJW political correctness. That said, there is still no excuse for doxxing people merely because you disagree with their politics. This is generally agreed upon by most everyone I know, even though this is an emergent moral issue which was not discussed when I was growing up. There are a few people who openly disagree, such as Greg Laden, but I believe they can be safely written off as aberrations in terms of self-awareness and moral development.

Or rather, I used to believe that. Seeing various people (all from the anti-A+ side of the rift) openly celebrating the above doxxing, gleefully sharing links to it on Twitter, has forced me to reconsider. Perhaps the moral prohibition on doxxing is one of those things that only really applies to in-group members.

    Your thoughts?
