I’m guessing you’ve all seen this one before:
I’d like to think that any skeptic worth his or her salt would immediately see the problem with this popular meme, but given its relative popularity and surprisingly high recurrence rate, I’m going to have to just state it plainly, going full-Setar with bold italic caps lock of rage: THE REASON THEY DISMISS ALL THE OTHER GODS IS THAT THEY’VE BEEN TRAINED FROM BIRTH TO ACCEPT ONE RELIGIOUS DOGMA AND NEVER EXAMINE THOSE BELIEFS CRITICALLY.
That is, of course, a perfectly terrible reason to dismiss any claim, even the really weird metaphysical ones. Let us not pretend for a moment that theists made a survey of all the gods and then picked out the ones with the most evidential backing. No one does that. Seriously. Please, stop using this meme.
