I’ve noticed that posts about gun control tend to bring out the same sort of partisan bickering as posts about sexism, and that the NRA folks also tend to be the MRA folks. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that one might be able to generate the perfect storm within the freethought community if one could somehow write a column that effectively argued for gun rights exclusively in terms of men’s rights. Maybe something about how the anti-gun lobby is a feminizing force in our culture, of the sort which Stephen Pinker effusively praises in his most recent book.
Probably need to throw in some evo-psych just to be firmly on the unsafe side.
