Continuing our interminable series of audio tidbits which you might ought to know about, I give you John Safran and Father Bob Maguire over at Sunday Night Safran. As far as I can tell, these two hooked up while filming for John Safran Vs God, during one of John’s many attempts to try on new religions. In this segment, John has a go at Catholicism. When I first saw it, I thought to myself that these two guys really should have their own show. Sometimes, good fortune and SBS programmers favor the foolish.
John is agnostic, as best as I can tell, and has all kinds of believers and unbelievers on his show. He’s hosted Ron Jeremy (porn star) and Craig Gross (anti-porn crusader) on the same episode. He’s had John Edward on the show and mocked him gently throughout for being an entertaining fraud. He has folks of every creed and denomination on to talk about their faith, and not a few atheist activists, authors, and musicians.
